The Bar & Lounge

The Cherrytree is a family run pub in the heart of Walkinstown.

Delicious gourmet food is cooked by our experienced and professional team in house. Gerry and Austin McGeough and their team are waiting to give you a warm welcome. Ideally located with ample car parking, it is suitable for family occasions and functions, meetings, training staff or just a quick chat.

While opening during the day and catering for lunches and funerals our aim is to provide a platform for your good night out. Our lounge will prove the ideal venue for your party. Be it a vibrant 21st, a laid back 30th, a salsa fuelled 40th, or that golden anniversary.

History

The Cherrytree is a family run pub in the heart of Walkinstown, originally established in 1953. The McGeough family have been behind the bar since 1979, when Ted McGeough took over the O’Meara’s pub in Parkgate St.

Since then the family business has grown strong, taking over the Cherrytree in 1998 from Murtagh Properties, this marked the passing over of Dublin’s last Guinness Brewery pub.

It remains the families intention to uphold and maintain the great Guinness traditions, now Diageo of course. You will now find Gerry and Austin McGeough and their team behind the bar waiting to serve you.

Special Support & Thanks

The Cherrytree is very proud to be associated with all our local legends at Cherryfield Utd FC, Walkinstown Utd FC, Walkeleles D12 Runners, Ladies Darts, Golf Society, Limekiln Rounders Gaa Club, Cherrytree Players, Redline Book Festival and Musically Sound and our business network partners at PLATO Dublin and South Dublin County Council.
